From 17 to 19th, January 2024, COFORWA’s Executive Director, Mr. Kinyango Jean Paul, together with the representatives of WaterAid Scotland, Scottish Water, and Water Aid Rwanda, as well as the Nyamagabe District representatives, visited various projects constructed by COFORWA in Nyamagabe District with the support of Water Aid.
They visited MUHINGO-SHYERU Water supply system of 11.5 kilometers with 18 water points and 7 water storage tanks serving more than 9,000 residents living in the villages of: Kiyovu, Muhingo, Baziro, Rushyarara and Karumbi.
Another water supply system was constructed to supply clean water to more than 1,500 residents in Mukungu.
In order to improve WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) in communities, a washing unit was also installed at Mukungu Health Center, used by over 400 persons per month.
At Kaduha Hospital, modern toilets, bathrooms and laundry facilities have been constructed to help patients and other visitors.
The Beneficiaries expressed their satisfaction with these infrastructures that will enable them to live a healthier life. These activities enabled also our beneficiaries to have the habit of taking care of cleanliness and hygiene in their daily lives.
Our donors have also expressed their great satisfaction with the success of construction of these infrastructures.
