Vulnerable and Underserved Populations
COFORWA’s founder, Father Sylvan Bourguet, assisted the most vulnerable people to access health services, education, food, shelter, and other necessities. In this tradition, COFORWA established the Bourguet Fund to honor Sylvan Bourguet's commitments that were not satisfied upon his death, but also to perpetuate assistance to the most vulnerable people. The management committee includes members from Kibangu Parish, Kibangu sector, and COFORWA.
The funds from the Bourguet Fund support vulnerable household's payments for health insurance, as well as support to access education and food. Those people suffering from HIV/AIDS are specifically targeted for health care and food support.
The resources are from generous donors worldwide and COFORWA contributes 500,000 RWFs annually.
