water and sanitation

Water and Sanitation

COFORWA has invested in water and sanitation within the whole national territory since 1972. Numerous achievements are then registered. Its intervention comprises technical trainings, studies, construction of improved water springs, underground tanks, boreholes, and water supply systems for multiple uses (domestic and agricultural).

Water and Sanitation Master Plans

For long-term programs, COFORWA establishes water and sanitation plans. These plans contain baseline indicators, targets, technical options, approaches, and methodologies for both soft and hard components of projects. They take into account the resource management perspective, and unique needs of each area and community.

Water Works and Control

COFORWA implements water works programs throughout Rwanda. These programs includes gravitation pumps, pump schemes to develop springs, shallow wells, tube wells, pumping underground water, and underground water tanks.
