Water and Sanitation
COFORWA has invested in water and sanitation within the whole national territory since 1972. Numerous achievements are then registered. Its intervention comprises technical trainings, studies, construction of improved water springs, underground tanks, boreholes, and water supply systems for multiple uses (domestic and agricultural).
Water and Sanitation Master Plans
For long-term programs, COFORWA establishes water and sanitation plans. These plans contain baseline indicators, targets, technical options, approaches, and methodologies for both soft and hard components of projects. They take into account the resource management perspective, and unique needs of each area and community.
Water Works and Control
COFORWA implements water works programs throughout Rwanda. These programs includes gravitation pumps, pump schemes to develop springs, shallow wells, tube wells, pumping underground water, and underground water tanks.
HAMS Clubs
Training and supervision of focal points (teachers), then clubs (students) for hygiene and sanitation in schools. Child-to-child approach. HAMS (Hygiene et Assainissement en Milieu Scolaire: Hygiene and Sanitation in the School Environment) committees activities supervision; including parents, teachers, students, school neighbors.
Water Management Support
Community management structures support. Promotion of Public Private Partnerships (PPP) in water management. Training on technical, administrative and financial management. Regional exchanges and local research on best practices. Maintenance techniques of different water schemes for local technicians to provide necessary assistance to the community. Give them ability to develop themselves small springs and control water works projects on the behalf of the community.

Expertise in topography for water projects, land works. Training skills for medium technicians.
